Are you ready to learn how to build and program your dancing MicroBit robot? We cannot wait to welcome you to the Wonder Women Robotics Camp 2021 🙂
The camp runs Tuesday, July 6th - Friday, July 9th from 10am - 3pm EDT daily. On Friday July 9 starting at 1pm, we are inviting all family and friends to join the parent showcase, celebrate the girls and be amazed by the robot dances they created.
Participants will need
Box with camp materials we shipped to you.
A computer to program on (only a web browser is needed).
A webcam and microphone to join the virtual meetings.
Reliable internet.
Spare AAA batteries.
A ruler, pen and paper for some activities

Hey! I’m Alex aka Supergirl. I’m going into 12th grade this year at Oak Ridge High School. I’ve worked at this camp for 2 years and I have made 3 different classes for ORCS Girls focusing on combining computer science and art. I want to be a mechanical engineer and play with robots for my career.

I’m Amelie, a rising Senior at Oak Ridge High School. I’m one of the Camp Directors of the Wonder Women Robotics Camp and am super excited to meet all of you! I’m on the FIRST robotics team, The Secret City Wildbots and have been doing robotics since 4th grade because I love programming and mathematics.

Hello all! I’m Grace (or Gamora). I’m a rising sophomore at Farragut High School. Over this year, I have been exposed to coding like I was never before. A lot of that goes to all the events ORCSGirls has hosted and co-hosted, including their classes, the CoSpaces competition, Scratch competition, and even this very camp itself. I really hope to help each one of you discover (or possibly rediscover) how amazing and fun technology can be! :D

Hi, I'm Hannah! I'm a rising senior at Oak Ridge High School. I march for the Oak Ridge Wildband and the STEM field that I'm most interested in is chemistry. I'm very excited to be a counselor for the Wonder Women Robotics Camp, and I can't wait to meet all of you!

Hi, I am Jessica! I am a rising Senior at Oak Ridge High School. I really love math. This is my third Wonder Women Camp and I am super excited to build and program robots with you!
Team Batgirl

Hi! I’m Leah. I’m going into seventh grade. I wanted to be a counselor, because I couldn’t get enough of this camp! In my spare time, I program with Javascript, python, and blocks. I love the micro:bit; there are so many possibilities for what you can do with your bot! I hope you love this camp as much as I did and learn that technology is challenging, educational, and fun!
Team Lady Sif

I’m from Oak Ridge, TN. I am on the Secret City Wildbots Robotics team. I enjoy robotics because you get to learn so much about different topics in it but also what you learn in robotics is adaptable and able to be applied in other disciplines. I was a counselor last year and had a lot of fun. I also volunteer for some Saturday Classes.
