About the program
The Junior program is directed towards girls, genderqueer, and non-binary students in grades 2-4 with the goal of extending ORCSGirls' age range through classes and camps. It is created and run by ORCSGirls volunteer Katie Bates!
I'm super excited to see what you all create! <3
Virtual class
10am to noon - Eastern Time.
Three-dimensional printing is a relatively new phenomenon in the tech world, and it is an amazing way to bridge the software and physical worlds. Students will learn about 3D printing principles, learn about downloading, customizing and creating their own objects using open source software - and they will be able to 3D print their design.
Virtual class
10am to noon - Eastern Time.
Video games are cool - but did you ever think about making your own? In this class, you will learn how to use Scratch (scratch.mit.edu) to create your own interactive video games - and yes, you can play it too.
Virtual camp
10am to noon - Eastern Time.
Virtual worlds are becoming more and more popular in video games and immersive experiences. So what if you could make an entire virtual reality (VR) yourself? In this 4-day camp, girls will learn how VR works - and make their own custom world to explore.
